MENTAL HEALTH AMERICA
Mental Health America (MHA) – founded in 1909 – is the nation’s leading community-based nonprofit dedicated to addressing the needs of those living with mental illness and to promoting the overall mental health of all Americans. Our work is driven by our commitment to promote mental health as a critical part of overall wellness, including prevention services for all; early identification and intervention for those at risk; integrated care, services, and supports for those who need it; with recovery as the goal.
Earth Day serves as a rallying cry and inspiration for action, events, and environmental awareness worldwide. Earth Day is the largest secular event in the world, with over one billion people participating in Earth Day events each year.
EARTHDAY.ORG is the standard-bearer for Earth Day. We promote and unify Earth Day activities around the world through distribution of materials and toolkits, enlisting the participation of groups and government officials across the globe, and developing marketing campaigns through social and traditional media.
Girls Inc. inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold through direct service and advocacy. Our comprehensive approach to whole girl development equips girls to navigate gender, economic, and social barriers and grow up healthy, educated, and independent. These positive outcomes are achieved through three core elements: people – trained staff and volunteers who build lasting, mentoring relationships; environment – girls-only, physically and emotionally safe, where there is a sisterhood of support, high expectations, and mutual respect; and programming – research-based, hands-on and minds-on, age-appropriate, meeting the needs of today’s girls. Informed by girls and their families, we also advocate for legislation and policies to increase opportunities for all girls.
